The existing complex of Wesola Polana offers various accommodations which establish various boundaries between “people and nature”, and “people and people”. Some of these boundaries existed prior to human intervention, and some of them were established in order to segregate programs within the complex. This structure seeks to accentuates the artificiality of one of these established boundaries– the berm– which has been created by site manipulation.

Programmatically, it is a dormitory for young adults on nature retreat, which utilize a Nordic ski lab within the building. The ski lab is the volume shaded by the large opaque volume, transparent for the sake of patron safety.

TAKEAWAY

The most successful aspects of the project is the strength of the concept.

Underdeveloped photo-manipulation and trade software skills lead to an over-reliance on newly discovered rendering software.
